Pratham Fundraising Gala

Pratham UK’s mission is to get every Indian child ‘in school and learning well’, and the-recipe were extremely proud to cater for their Fundraising Gala 2011.  The Roundhouse looked radiant, awash with the vibrant colours of India and the rail travel theme, perfectly executed by NPA. In order to ensure Pratham’s five-hundred strong guest list experienced truly authentic Indian cuisine, we consulted Michelin-starred Indian restaurant Amaya. With their expertise on board, we served up a first class menu: on arrival, vibrant cocktails and canapés including jack fruit & date kebabs.

Next stop: a Kerala Moilee cappuccino served with mini bhajias followed by champagne butter chicken, crispy okra, baby aubergine & moong dal with spinach. After dinner the fundraising went full steam ahead with a pop-up art gallery, jewellery stalls and an auction helping to raise millions of pounds. The final destination was the dance floor with Bollywood performances followed by DJ Talvin Singh leading the guests to party the night away.

Battersea Power Station

The raw, unpolished setting of Battersea Power Station inspired the ‘industrial chic’ theme of this wealth management company’s annual drinks reception.  On arrival, guests were led through an enclosed laser tunnel before emerging into the centre of this vast, awe-inspiring space.

There they were greeted with trays of champagne & cocktails to enjoy whilst taking in their impressive surroundings. Canapés were served from bespoke sheet metal trays. Bowl foods circulated throughout the evening and the industrial sushi conveyor belt and liquid nitrogen ice cream bar all conspired to create the impression that this disused power station had once again come to life.
