The-Team

David Wolanski

David is the creative force behind the-recipe. His passion for food, eye for detail and relentless demand for flawless service keeps the team on their toes and the-recipe on the cutting edge.

He quickly cut his teeth working for Marco Pierre-White at L’Escargot before setting up his own award-winning, Café Soho. 

Even outside the office, you’ll find him living & breathing (&, of course, eating) food. His recent projects include acclaimed pop-up restaurants Rock Lobsta & English Launderette. Down-time is filled with watching  Spurs, going to gigs, snowboarding or, most recently, kite-surfing.

John Stockton

John has more than thirty years’ experience in event catering.  Following various roles within restaurants and hotels in the North, John came to London and joined Moving Venue Caterers, where he stayed for seventeen years. At MVC John gained unrivalled experience: operating at London’s most prestigious venues, developing his management skills and eventually landing the role of Managing Director. John joined the-recipe in 2010 and, armed with his wealth of expertise and established name in the industry, has set about steering the-recipe towards its vision: a seat at the top table of London’s event caterers.

Emma Beeston

With her wealth of experience in sales within the industry from hotels to live events to event catering and an unwaivering passion for food, beverage & hospitality, Emma is the consummate professional. She returns to London & joins the-recipe as Sales Director after spending 10 years owning & running the very successful Corner Bistro (& surfing) in Devon with hubby Andrew.

Andreas Pseftoudis

Andreas is our no nonsense operations manager with a reputation for getting the most out of the team on events.

His industry experience spans nearly 15 years, from porter to sales manager, giving him invaluable knowledge of every section of the events he runs. 

He can usually be found in the newest street food market or watching his beloved All Blacks. He loves to travel and his Greek-Zimbabwean roots give him lots of great holiday homes!

Simon Wolanski

Simon takes care of the ‘business’ end and is the perfect complement to his brother’s creativity. Having progressed through his Chartered Institute of Management Accountants exams whilst working at IMG, Simon went on to start up his own car importing business.

Then, in 2005, the opportunity to work with David setting up a catering business arose and he jumped at the chance. Simon brings both financial management and commercial savvy to the organisation and takes great pride in upholding the administrative side of the business, enabling the-recipe to enjoy the commercial success it deserves.

Bella Sage

Bella has been with us on and off for the last few years. Initially a core member of our waiting staff, she joined us in 2015 as a fully fledged member of the sales team after completing her degree in Graphic Design.

With a background in events catering, pop up restaurants and events management she brings a current and diverse insight into the London food and events scene. With an injection of creative energy and an innate love of food and service, she has quickly become an invaluable member of the team.An avid eater, when not in the office she will usually be found eating, drinking or running through London.

Philippa Stimpson

Philippa recently joined the-recipe after most recently gaining experience within private Asian catering working across London and Europe. She also gained invaluable experience at the London Olympics 2012.

 She brings a passion for seamless catering has an abundance of hospitality experience, a cracking personality and is going to make us all feel lacking in the exercise department as she is super fit and loves running Marathons!

 She is looking forward to working with all our venues and have the opportunity to be on site at our events.

 In her spare time she is either running the streets of London or in a country pub eyeing up the burger with a glass of red.

Become an Early Riser

George McDonagh

George has over 12 year’s experience in some of London’s finest restaurants.  Having worked his way up through the ranks for over five years at the Michelin starred Savoy Grill Room with Marcus Waring.  George honed his skills and palette further in other Michelin restaurants; East Side Inn (Farringdon) and F12 in Stockholm, before returning for another stint with Marcus at The Savoy.

 George then entered into the event catering world and has been Head Chef for some of London’s finest event caterers.  Now at the-recipe George is delivering innovative, Michelin quality food to the event market.
